[SOLVED] High fps but laggy gameplay

Gpu: nvidia 1060 6gb
Cpu intel core i5 8500
Ram: 16gb
I have over 100 fps in every game i play but it feels laggy and i also notice screen tearing every time..please help me.

I always thought Vsync was laggy only because it makes the number of pre-rendered frames permanently stuck at the maximum of 3-4, meaning everything you see is 3 or 4 frames behind. Last week, nVidia put an ultra-low latency setting in the drivers that lets you set the pre-rendered frames at zero:

What's your monitor refresh rate? Fps > 60Hz will seem jittery.

Which games?

Check cpu usages at these frame rates using Msi Afterburner. Youtube has tutorial vids showing how to configure Afterburner to show osd while playing. Don't really want to see your cpu working 100% at those frame rates, its a recipe for stutters.

My cpu goes from 20-30% my gpu though goes to 100% sometimes

I have iiyama 75hz monitor
 
There's most likely the problem. How much over the refresh are your fps? Without vsync, the visuals can look bad because your monitor isn't displaying all frames.

Try vsync on BUT limit your fps to 73. Shouldn't get input lag then.

Your cpu usage doesn't look right though, how are you monitoring?

Gpu usage is fine.
If i turn v-sync on my fps will lock to the same number of my momitors refresh rate anyway..i cant control the fps when the v-sync is enabled. For the cpu i dont have it monitored maybe i should try the msi afterburner.
 
Use an fps limiter like Msi Afterburner. Vsync lag happens if vsync is operating right on the maximum threshold 75fps/75Hz. If limit fps to 73 or 74, the extra frames behaves like a phantom buffer. I used to do this on a tv and didn't have input lag and vsync helped sync frames so it looked smoother compared to just capping frames.

That is awesome, didn't know about that!

Yeah however vsync buffers frames, i did used to limit games to 59 (60hz) and vsync wouldn't give me input lag. That's before i got a gsync monitor.

Do i have to enable vsync from nvidia inorder to work?
 
Vsync set to on in NvidiaCP forces vsync in all games. If Vsync is off in NvidiaCP then no game will work with vsync even if it is turned on in game. Nvidia is boss.

Ultra setting BFG shared is another vsync setting. Enabling ultra will override the game's own vsync the same way vsync set to 'on' would.
