I got a problem. When I play games on PC my GPU usage hits 100%. It gets to max gpu usage and i receive a huge fps drop. But it happens only when I start up a game and about 5 mins in it triggers.

As I searched, I found that this was a virus problem to many people. So I scanned my pc for viruses with Avast first, but nothing. Then I uninstalled Avast cus my friend recommended to try with Avira free antivirus. And again nothing was detected. So I gave Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and it didn't find any malware on my pc.

My PC specs:
CPU AMD FX-6350
Motherboard ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3
Graphics Card STRIX GeForce GTX 960
RAM 9.00 gb DDR3
HDD KINGSTON SV300S37A120G ATA 120gb
SSD ST1000DM003-1SB10C ATA Device 1tb
PSU Corsair VS450

The problem started 2 days ago when the new nvidia driver came out 372.54. I installed the new driver trough the DDU process and then I noticed my problem. I uninstalled the new driver and then installed back the previous driver 368.81.

P.S. I'm using Windows 10, if its important.

P.S.S. I monitor this with MSI Afterburner & GPU - Z.

Please help & Thanks in advance.

Try reinstalling your windows and see if that will work. And for the PSU, thats an excellent choice of PSU man. Even though reinstalling your windows might fix the problem of your GPU, what would you be missing is your ENTIRE RIG if you dont buy a new PSU man :)) Constantly fighting for power is a not ideal, and you will be thankful soon enough that you bought a QUALITY PSU once something bad happens to your rig. Like if you would track down my threads, about 3 hours ago I posted a question in the components forum regarding a blackout (power cut) issues to, had some static sounds here and there, and from that moment, i was SO GRATEFUL that i bought a cooler master V rather than a CORSAIR VS 650W as it saved MY ENTIRE RIG for having a...
What "games" are you talking about? Virus are usually intended to extract some information like log-in ID/password or credit card related infos, not to mess up with your hardware. It can also be thermal throttling OR the PSU is not giving you enough power to play your games. A gtx 960 with a QUALITY 500w PSU will be alright, but the questionable "VS" series from corsair together with a very high demanding FX-6350? Not a chance man. There are endless of possibilities but from what I can see is you should change your PSU asap then try to sort things out from there.

I got this problem on any game that I play on my pc ( World of Warcraft, Rise of the Tomb Raider, CS:GO etc.) And I tried to Reset this PC, but my mouse & keyboard ain't working in the 'Choose your keyboard language layout'...

P.S. Can you recommend a good PSU ? (not a high-end)

The only thing that I could make off is that a GPU will not run that much when you are not gaming, meaning that it will not pull as much as power compared to when you are playing games. Although a 960 should have NO PROBLEMS running WoW and CSGO maxed. You might wanna scale down the RoTR, heck, just try scaling all the games that you are playing in VERY LOW settings and see what happens, and if it still reaches 100%. The CPU and the GPU might be fighting for power. Simply put it this way, you can be STRONG and BUFF as ** but when yo feet ain't touching the ground, you cant reach your full potential to give a finisher punch. Just make sure to change your PSU asap as you might blow your rig up. Never EVER go cheap with a psu man!

Here is a tier-list of tom's hardware to enlighten you more: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html (VS series is in tier 4 and to make it worse, you are using a 450W).

Have a good day ahead, cheers mate!

Sorry if I misled you a bit, but my GPU usage is very high even when Im not gaming. It just happens at random moments and stays constant about 90-99% when Im browsing internet until I restart pc. Then I got about 20 mins until the gpu usage is again at 90 to 99%... 🙁

And if its the PSU problem Im thinking to buy a XFX Core TS 550W.

Buy that PSU and you will never regret it man! Cheers mate!
