Question High idle CPU temps after installing new cpu and cooler.

Hi, I have just upgraded my cou from ryzen 5 3600 to ryzen 9 5900x with the cooler master hyper 212x.


My problem is that in ryzen master the cpu temp is on 80°C with nothing else open. When I change the peak core voltage in the ryzen master to 1.25 this temp goes to 50-60°C.


The whole reason I changed the fan is because I had to do this with my other cpu and stock cooler as well to keep the temps a little cooler.


Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

did you apply thermal paste on the CPU before installing the cooler?
did you remove the foil on the cooler before installing it?

Yes I did both

check the correct placing of the cooler again
screw too much tightened or too loose
fan is spinning @ correct speed or too low
