I have my Ryzen 5 2600x running at 3.8Ghz at 1.25 voltage with a stock cooler. Although my cpu usage is 5-10% used i still get 45 to 60 degrees celsius on idle temps and the only real problem insee here is old thermal paste (stock thermal paste+from summer 2019) so I just think its old and thats why i get such a high temps. Before like half a year ago they were like 30-40 degrees idle.
Just want to be clear that it should be thermal paste
•Ryzen 5 2600x
•GTX 970 4GB
•16 Gb ram 3000Mhz 2x8
•MSI B450 pro carbon ac

Solution
yes it should be thermal paste there are many different variants I bought some in my signature off ebay about 5-6 pounds and reduced my temps not a great deal but was better than what I had they do run hot new CPU's.
