High Physical Memory?

I have very high physical memory I can see just at my desktop without playing any games. Right now its at 5.2/8.0GB (65%) of my memory just at my desktop with google open. When I open resource monitory it says "65% Used Physical memory" I see a lot of "chrome.exe" at the very top, it looks like its using a lot of KB or something I'm not quite sure it says about 170K-550K (KB) thats the amount chrome is using but I don't know if thats my issue.

chrome uses lots of ram usually

windows usually eats half of ram too

if you close chrome, how much it gets freed?

When I close chrome it says 36% is being used.
