High Ping In Games and TS

So, 4 days ago I re-installed Windows because my PC was getting a little bit slow. After I reset it, I plugged my Wireless Network Adapter into my USB port, logged into my WiFi, everything was fine. I could watch videos, listen to music, perfect. But when I went to go play CS:GO, my ping was crazy, 450 lowest was 150. I kept getting horrible rubber-banding issues, so I went into a TeamSpeak server and my ping never goes below 150. I literally can't play any games without rubber-banding, so I need help.

PLEASE do not suggest connecting directly to my router, I can't, and I don't have to, my adapter was working fine just 4 days ago before I reset my PC.

Don't talk super tech please, although I am good with computers, I suck with networking.

JW,

Need to ask:

Is the USB Wireless Network Adapter driver up to date (i.e., the same driver that was installed before you re-installed Windows)?

If so, are you sure that the new Windows installation has all of the updates that were present before the re-install? What about the video card drivers.

As I am sure you are aware gaming imposes fairly high demands on any system. Other things such as videos and music can be "perfect" as you stated but a game may not run or be slowed by any number of other issues.

That said, high pings suggest connectivity issues and those issues may have been contributing to the original "slow" problem.

Hard to determine at this point and actually now moot.

Run some additional pings, tracert...

Run some additional pings, tracert, and perhaps pathping while gaming and not gaming. Target the gamesite IP's.

See where the delays are occuring and post accordingly. Thanks.
