High ping in games, even with high up/down speeds, and relatively close servers.

I'm attempting to play game such as overwatch, tf2 csgo, and super smash melee, but my game play is constantly being hindered by ping ranging from 75-120. I'm using a wired connection to play, and whenever I connect to a server approximately 300 km away, I'm getting ping up to 110 in game. However when I test my connection on speedest.com and select the approximate region said game server was in, i get something in the 50-70 range.

I've tried: Resetting modem/router, switch ISP (did this a while back, but I'm pretty sure I had a similar problem before), and switch Ethernet cables

Any solutions or troubleshooting tips would be appreciated.

Try a trace route and see if some of the hops are high ms.

if there is a bad hop you can try the below.
services like wtfast try and make your hops optimal. VPN would be similar, but only paid ones do ok.

if you can identify the bad hop you can ask your isp to optimize routes to avoid this.
