High ping issues when gaming.

First off my issue is I cant play online games. My ping goes to 150-200 when I get into onto a server. Next when I do a speed test it shows perfectly fine speeds. I called my isp and they did a restart on the internet. That did absolutely nothing and when I say that, they did a test on my internet to see if something was wrong and they said nothing was wrong. I mostly play counter strike global offensive and it is unbearable to play because of the rubber banding that happens. This has been happening for a little over 4 days now and it doesn't change at all. http://www.speedtest...sult/4069012738 that is a recent speed test that I did in January and that's how it is currently, just when in-game I get really high ping. Before my problems I would get around 30-40 ping and very playable. Any help is appreciated cause I do pro gaming and cant really do it currently. Also any more information that is needed can be provided.

Well for one thing, wired connections are always better for gaming. Wireless can be very flaky.

Since you didn't tell us what router or adapter you have, advice will be limited.

Unless you can use an ethernet cable, you can try moving the router or your adapter around. Positioning them away from obstacles can make a lot of difference. Also be sure to have the latest driver for your wireless adapter, and the latest firmware update on the router.

Well I have the original tower router/modem that I got from Comcast and for my drivers I have them updated all the time. And before I used to get 30-40 ping on wireless I now get 150-200 and that's even on wired connection. And for the firmware I don't know what to do for that.

Ok I'll ask again in a different way: What make/model router do you have, and what make/model wireless adapter do you have?

Remember, we only know what you tell us. So far you haven't told us much other than general things.

What are your wireless settings on your router? Security?

The model of my router is Arris TG862 and the network card in my laptop is a
10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector)
and for the security it is custom and blocking icmp and ident (port 113) and thats it.

Ok I assumed you were using a wireless connection (since this is the wireless forum).

Have you tried a different ethernet cable? They do break sometimes. Or try using a different ethernet port on the router.

I have tried using ethernet but i still get the same ping. Ive also tried all ethernet ports on it and they all are the same outcome.

Because you told us above that you were using a wired connection?

"10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector)" indicated a wired ethernet connection.
