Question High ping on phone but not on pc

I get a lot of ping spikes when I'm playing and I tried identifying the issue by testing my ping. I tested with 8.8.8.8 and With my pc i get stable 40ms (both lan cable and wireless) and with my phone i get 40ms to 70ms sometimes spiking to 300ms with 5% packet loss . Also tried test pinging with my router (192.168.1.1) and again on pc (both lan cable and wireless) I get <1ms but on phone it's between 4ms and 20ms

I'm the only one in the house using the wifi , and when i tested i disconected the other device too

i play call of duty mobile , i'm fine on cellular just the wifi keeps getting me ms spikes

You can try resetting the router, I know it is a boring fix. You can also try changing the channels that the router is using to keep away from neighbor's overuse of those channels.

i'll try the differenet channels then resetting . also i forgot to mention that this issue just happened suddenly . it wasn't like this from the start , could it be a hardware issue ?

I don't think so. Your best chance I think is changing channels and restarting.

If you have control over your router's wifi, I would try separating the 2.4ghz and 5ghz channels into 2 separate SSID's. Call them MYWIFI_24ghz and MYWIFI_5ghz. Then have your phone connect to both and see if both have the same wifi ping spikes.

If you have a router with QoS function then you want to enable that. A higher end router can remember the IP address of the devices connected, but if it doesn't, then you have to realize what the sequence of CONNECTNTIVITY as which one gets the IP of the bandwidth restrictions of the QoS function. A PC, especially idle one can create a lot of network problems on a network. But majority of peoples problems is exceeding bandwidth, or not understanding 2.4 ghz frequencies and 5 ghz.
