High ping spikes randomly

I play a lot of games online and randomly during the day I will get high ping spikes that will kick me out of games and kick me out of discord it lasts for about 30 seconds up to a minute and its very frustrating because im not sure what the cause is ive called att and they said there is no issues. i am hardwired directly to my router and my ethernet cable is only a foot long and its a cat6.

Pretty standard testing method.

Run tracert to 8.8.8.8.

Run constant ping to your router ip, the first ISP router..normally hop 2..., and the end ip address either 8.8.8.8 or maybe the game console.

What you want to show is you have no issues to the router IP but you see issues in hop 2. You then pretty much have proof your equipment is fine but the ISP has a issue. If you see no problems to the ISP then it could be farther into the network or even be the game company ISP.

I run a tracert with my IP but it only shows one line and says its complete

You can't tracert to your ip you need to tracert to some remote server.

8.8.8.8 is a good test one but you can use the game servers if you want.

Check your router for a bandwidth monitor. During your lag see if your connection is swamped.
something could be updating. any download will cause bufferbloat until it's done.
