Hello, I'm having issues with ping. My ISP Is Spectrum and I live on the east coast of the US. I play only on east coast game servers and only with an Ethernet connection (using a brand new Cat6 cable). Allow me to state, my issue on ping is not the consistency of it. My ping stays consistent at it's numbers (usually). But it's higher than it used to be out of no where.
My internet package has 300 up and 20 down. I'm unaware if we are fiber or broadband. I've already contacted my ISP and had them check out everything and they claim all is good on their end, that their hitting their mark for acceptable ping, being 1-50. Mine was 10. SpeedTest also reflects this.
Here's the issue; I just moved house (literally only 3 streets down). At my old place, with a 200/20 package, I had stable 35-40 ping while gaming in any game. This is acceptable, I can work with this. I also had these speeds when the internet was first installed in the new home. About a month later, I began receiving averages of 65-77 ping on EVERY game I play (Except Arma3 servers). I play Fortnite, Arma3, Hunt Showdown, etc. Shooting games that rely on low ping. I gave it some time before I called my ISP, wanting to see if I could do anything. I've tried DNS stuff, programs like Haste, some other things I needed cmd prompt for and nothing worked.
I figured, maybe it's a hardware issue... So I have a modem and router. While Spectrum was over, we tested just the modem to the pc, and my ping was a nice 22-35, but this isn't an option for me to keep since my family needs wifi haha. So I wondered if the router was bad. They brought in the combo box thing, router+modem, and that has my original issue. (Dont know why they didn't bring another router.... Hmmm....) Sooo... Im out of ideas... Please help ;-;
ps; devices on the network isn't the issue, ive never had a problem as far as the amount of devices on the network. I also have all network drivers up to date.
