Hello,
Whenever I plug in my speakers into my computer, they produce a high pitched squealing sound which is EXTREMELY annoying when playing games or when I'm sitting idle. I know the headphones and speakers work perfectly fine, because they work on my phone, or my laptop. My motherboard is the GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 and my headphones are the Audio Technica M50x's. I was thinking of buying a sound card to potentially fix this static noise, but im not quite sure what to do. Would love to hear if anyone has some easy fixes for this whining sound.

Thanks a bunch!

The sound you are hearing is the result of your onboard sound not having good enough mosfets to filter out the static that the rest of your system makes. A sound card would/should fix this. The sound card I would recommend is the Sound Blaster Z or Zx. I have been running one for years and the only issues I have had with it were caused by Windows 10 updates that changed the way Windows Sound works.
