Question High quality PC speakers for loud music

Short of hooking up a tuner and floor speakers to my desktop PC what is the best sound quality speakers with highest wattage output for listening to music on your PC for under $700? I prefer to spend $300-$400 but if I have to Im willing to go as high as maybe $700. Ive tried logitechs highest wattage system they sell which isnt quite loud enough and I cant even crank it past 65% volume without getting distortion. Not to mention I keep blowing speakers in the speakers. TIA

Klipsch The Fives alone or R-51PM with the R-100SW alongside if you prefer more presence. The fives 'should' be a better sounding driver. I have been using Reference for years and they suit me fine.
