I have been told that I wont see the true power of having a quadfire configuratioin unless my resiolution can go high enough.currently its 1680x800..

To do what ? Just gaming ?

Any TN panel will do quality wise but we are talking 1920 x 1200 resolution which can hardly strain a single 4870x2.

Crysis warhead is about as tough a test as is available and we see 18/30/39 (min / avg / max) fps w/ one card. This edges the 295's 13/29/36. However whereas the 295 scales w/ a 2nd card to 26/46/62 the 4870x2 only gets to 23/34/43

Looking at the benchies here....I didn't see where adding the 2nd card was that significant a game changer....at least not at 1920 x 1200

Now if you move to a 30" monitor, that's another discussion.

The Asus 1920 x 1200's in any case would be my choice for a pure gaming rig. If color accuracy becomes important for photo retouching , movies, etc, I'd say a Dell U2410 ... you can find it for the hi $400's if you wait for specials....follow the notices on sites like fatwallet, techhbargains and THG
