[SOLVED] High resolution textures vs other quality settings.

Hi all.

Can I please get an explanation as to why using high resolution texture packs don't decrease performance as much as ultra settings? If possible could I also get an idea of which performance settings just aren't worth it?

Oh cool didn't know it was that simple thank you.

A texture is a look-up table, there's nothing to compute. All the GPU has to do is grab the value at a particular spot.

An analogy is say getting info from Wikipedia rather than coming up with it yourself.
