High temp?

I recently bought a new computer and I have a power color ax6450 graphic card in it. I reach almost 70celsius when gaming, (Such as Tera Online). After logging off, its now at about 53celsius. I understand that this card is not .. the greatest on the market, but I don't really have that much money to buy a new one.
Since this card doesn't really have a fan..just a heatsink.. Is that temp to hot? I just recently bought this from walmarts custom ibuypower thing they have going.
My power supply is an antec 450watt with a vertical fan that is facing up, (bottom mount). I couldn't really face it down since my computer sits on a small desk near the floor.

Your temps are okay and if you are looking for a upgrade the cards listed above would do fine as well. However again your temps are fine while gaming. They are around the same as a GPU would be now with a fan on it. Although your card is a lower end card so it won't draw as much heat.

Well, on most coolers/heatsinks, they can keep your RAM cool quite well when they are horizontal and right next to the RAM, and if you plan on giving your GPU a big load frequently, I would suggest that you upgrade to a GPU that has a fan. If you are looking to upgrade, send me your specs, and I can recommend a card for you if you decide to upgrade, really high end cards such as RADEON HD 7970s go for around $460, but a Powercolor RADEON HD 7850 for example goes for a decent around $180 and can max most games.

Yeah, I do game quite often. I don't really play alot of modern'ish games though. Just a couple of MMO's like Tera and Dragon Nest. However I do intend to poke FFXIV someday. And I know that requires a great card..
Here's my specs:
AMD FX 6100 six core processor
8gigs of ddr3 ram
Running Windows 7
antec 450watt power supply, (just installed today).

It takes awhile for me to save money with my situation right now.. so if/when I do upgrade my card I'd like it to be under $100. I also don't mind playing games on low/medium settings, so long as lag is small.

At that price range that puts you around a 7770 and then if you were to go into the 150 dollar price range probably a 7850 1 gigabyte card. But if you are satisfied with your performance with the games you are playing at this moment I would sit tight low/medium settings are pretty easily obtained with those games (MMO's)

that 7770 looked to be around $140 or so, but i may of been looking on the wrong site..
I had a question about the PSU though. I have to mount my PSU in the bottom of the case, but my computer is pretty flat on the bottom, so it wouldn't be able to pull in air from outside. Is it safe/okay to have the verticle fan pointing up into the case?

Yes your fan orientation of your power supply is just fine. I have my pointed upwards.
I would look here for pricing on the 7770's. There are those that are yes in that range but you can get them for as low as right now 109 dollars.

Note: I changed my sound card last week so its a little different but nothing completely major.

Good to know, since i don't have a choice unless I make something to prop it up so the bottoms more free. 7770 looks promising. I may have to consider that. Also didn't know about that site. Pretty handy.

Sorry to push this further but.. a friend of mine was actually offering to give me a gtx 680 if he decides to buy a new card coming out..
I have to ask.. is my computer even good enough to even use that card? I heard that it will "bottleneck" probably, but honestly I don't know what that means.. Is it a waste of time? Small possibility he may give me it but I wanna ask this in case..

If he were to give you a GTX680 no questions asked no money exchanged I would then turn around and perhaps look to upgrade your cpu to something like a 8350 for example. It's possible it would honestly Bulldozer wasn't really a strong performer. Furthermore the high end cards including the 7950/70, and the 670/680 require a little more cpu power.

He is an old friend of mine. After talking to him about my computer and card he brought that up. I know its a beastly card. So my fx6100 couldn't play it or something? I already know I'd need a better PSU for sure.
Some said it would bottle neck and others said they were fine. Kept seeing mixed messages around the net when I went looking for people with that combo. I dunno if I can upgrade my cpu or not for awhile either. Bought this recently and not sure if I can return it, and it took awhile to save the money for it

I would expect it to to bottleneck yes. I would look at it as you would get a pretty awesome experience with the card however your CPU would be holding it back from its potential. I would take the card honestly. If you need a new PSU which it looks like you may then do it. Something in the 550,650 range should do it. I would take a look at the XFX 550,650 power supplies or even perhaps the Corsair TX650.

I see.. Okay cool then. I thought it was something worse than that. Your reply's have been extremely helpful. Never had this good of an experience on any other computer forum I have visited/posted on in the past. :) Will def have to look into a better PSU, luckily I can probably return the earlier one I bought if I have to and replace it with something better.
