High Temperature Reading

This may not be the right place for this post but I need advice on a high temperature reading from HWMonitor.
when I run HWMonitor to check Voltage and Temperatures I get a high temperature reading coming from somewhere on the mobo.

The temperature 2 reading shows 124 C. This seems way to high. Can anyone tell me where this temperature reading is from?

Mobo - Asrock X58 Extreme
CPU - Core I7 920
GPU - GTX 260
PSU - Corsair HX1000W
RAM - 3x2 GB OCZ PC3 12800

Any help is greatly appreciated.
 
Run Another Program to See what temps you getting!
Thats ether South or northBridge thats getting that Hot, But it mite be a Sensor Fault,
because your Pc Will Crash Constently if that Was its Real Temp!
 




Your Mobo my friend is going to Fry! cheak to See if the Heatsink on the NB is sitting Flush.
Not a healthy Temp.
if you want to Try this Remove the pins on the HS and Reapply Thermal past to the NB!
 
So I downloaded speed fan and it showed the same temperature readings. On the speedfan website it indicated that extremely high temperature readings could be a result of a sensor that was not used by the mobo maufacturer. Plus, sometimes when I start HWMonitor it does not even register the Temperature2 reading.

I got an infered thermometer from work and checked every inch of the mobo as well as the NB, SB and GPU and all the reading were around 100F-115F. My system seems to be stable, the temperature is very constant when running realtemp and prime95. Windows 7 64 bit has not crashed.

Not sure what else I can do.

Any other suggestions?
 
Don't worry about it, its probably a faulty sensor...for example my Temperature2( same one that is weird on yours) in hardware monitor is currently listed as -78 C! Which is 100 C less than my system temp and 110 C lessz than my CPU temp!.....definitely a faulty sensor!
