High temps 7700k

Solution
I've had a good deal of success undervolting my CPU and keeping high MHz I've turned my volts down too 1.25v and still have my chip running at 100% stable w.e I throw at it max temp 75c after 15 min torture test *Asus real bench* lower temps on most stress tests
Have you updated your board's BIOS to its latest version? Since we are talking about a new CPU and probably new motherboard some BIOS bugs may still exist. If you can't find a newer BIOS version, you should wait until a new version comes online (in a week or two) and in the mean time you could try undervolting your CPU. Maybe your current BIOS overvolts your CPU thus increasing its power consumption and its temperature.

Had to flash bios specifically to run the 7700k, I don't mind waiting for some time but the temps are quite concerning, as of right now the max my vcore has gone to idle while browsing with tabs open is 1.376 @ 4.2 which seems pretty high, vid at 1.399 as well.

You may have a bad silicon over there assuming you have correctly installed the CPU and you have a capable CPU cooler. There are a lot of stories online about big voltage variety between the new kaby lake CPUs and even this site mentioned it in its review. What board do you have? Does it have an older chipset (Z170) or a new one (Z270)? Have you tried resetting the CMOS. A lot of motherboards (old and new), have voltage issues with the new kaby lake CPUs and if you google it, you'll find a lot of similar cases, like yours. So wait for a new BIOS or try manually undervolting the CPU. Your BIOS could also have some other CPU voltage options or settings that may lower the overall CPU voltage.
