High temps GPU

Im going at 75 degrees and even 78 on demanding games with my r9 380 XFX. The problem with this is that i only have space for 1 case fan and it is set to exhaust. If i have it to intake, my gpu would hit 85+ degrees. If i mod 2 more fans in (which i am planning) how much would my temperatures drop?

Take the side cover off the case and see how much it drops with like that

Its sticking to the high 60's. can that improve with better air flow?

thats in the heaven benchmark, testing furmark now

with furmark, it still flies up to the high 70's

i have seen people getting a max of 66 degrees overclocked, but im here with 60-70 with the side panel OFF. any input on that?

you probably need to set a custom fan profile. Make your fans spin faster when they hit say 70c or 75c. Also have to take into account the temperature of your room the pc is in.

my room is small and gets decently hot when i start up a game, but i have the fan at 60% at all times. I dont like the shaky noise of the fan ramping up and down

Should i put in new thermal paste? its a new card but will it help thermals at all? also will adding case fans around the GPU help as well?

No. My wifes 970 fan gets around 50-60% my 780ti's easily will run 70% or so. When gaming yur fans should stay pretty steady and shouldnt ramp up and down. Mine dont, my wifes 970 doesnt really either.

i dont like the fans going up and down because ESPECIALLY on XFX cards, the fans are pretty loud so i keep it low and stable.

60% isnt low considering the two high powered fans down there

I hate to disagree but must. 60% is just above half speed. These things rev at high speed at 100% for a reason: They need it!
AMD's get hot and to keep them cool you need lots of airflow. You are directly restricting this airflow with that fan setting. More fans are not going to help because even with the side cover off they are getting hot.

Your choices as I see it: live with it, turn up the fans, switch to cooler running nvidia, or wait for the next gen amd's

Yep you will have to turn the fan speeds up sorry bud. Xfx arent known for being the coolest cards out there either so add that ontop of amd's running hot as hell anyway and your fans need to be closer to 80% or higher.
