High temps on brand new laptop

Ive just recently purchases Asus rog strix g17 (2021) with Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3060 (115w), while playing games like RDR2 and Valhalla , the gpu and CPU temps stay constantly at 86C, just wanna know whether these are normal temps or should i go for replacement?? room temp is 25C.

Yes, temps like that for a gaming laptop as the norm. Nothing to worry about.

There are some things you can do to reduce your temps.

1. Get a decent cooling pad with adjustable height (at the back). Raising the rear of the lappie will allow cooler air to go into the intake fans on the laptop, helping to cool the CPU.

2. Consider replacing the thermal paste. The generic paste used in most laptops is adequate. But you can better thermal results with higher quality paste.

3. Consider limiting clockspeeds to reduce voltage/power required, and therefore temps too and fan noise
