I'm looking for a gaming laptop with a set price range. But I'm trying to look for a i7 with. GTX 1060 but that take me over the price range I'm looking in. So I'm looking for help with a possible solution. Would a I7 and GTX 1050 or 1050ti be better or a I5 with a GTX1060? I've been doing my research on menu components and screen type but this part is the most hardest to pickup on

Solution
No longer does the i3/i5/i7 designation tell you how many cores and threads a mobile processor has.

The 8th gen processors will usually be faster and require less power than their previous counterparts.

If you can list the specific processors of the laptops you are considering, that would be helpful.

If all else is equal, go for the unit with the stronger graphics chip.

Solution
If play games and can't get i7 + 1060 (probably around 1k$) I would look for the 8th gen i5 + 1060. I have an 8th gen i7 + 1060. I was very impressed/suprised by how well the 1060 handles games.
