You haven't stated why you think the trouble is with your ISP. If you need more speed first be sure you have the right subscription from Verizon. It also never hurts to run a speed test on multiple devices to make sure you are getting the speed you are paying for.
Another avenue of investigation. Temporarily move the PC to a location where you can connect an Ethernet cable and turn off the Wifi. Try the wired connection then. If it is fast, then the problem is in the WiFi. If it still has connectivity issues, the problem might be in the computer itself.
I figured that a higher quality ISP would provide a higher quality connection, and I was unaware that Fios is the best I have access to. Now that I know its just a connection issue, I'm looking into wiring the connection,
