Higher End Internet Providers In the Washington D.C. Area?

Recently, I built my first custom PC. However, now that my computers speed is so high, I am finding that my internet speed is sorely lacking. Are their any higher end internet providers in the area around Washington DC? currently I have Verizon Fios, and It drops in and out of connection frequently. Any information on providers in the area would be greatly appreciated 😀

Verizon FiOS is probably the best you can get. It should not drop in and out.

Wireless. Planning on wiring my PC, but based on the location of my router, It would take a while. The weird thing is, I only have problems with my PC. Phone/tablet are fine...

Then it is an issue with the WiFi, rather than the actual provider.

Distance, what is in between, other interference, etc, etc. All affects a WiFi connection.

You haven't stated why you think the trouble is with your ISP. If you need more speed first be sure you have the right subscription from Verizon. It also never hurts to run a speed test on multiple devices to make sure you are getting the speed you are paying for.

Another avenue of investigation. Temporarily move the PC to a location where you can connect an Ethernet cable and turn off the Wifi. Try the wired connection then. If it is fast, then the problem is in the WiFi. If it still has connectivity issues, the problem might be in the computer itself.

I figured that a higher quality ISP would provide a higher quality connection, and I was unaware that Fios is the best I have access to. Now that I know its just a connection issue, I'm looking into wiring the connection,
