Question Higher speed ram like 1666 or 2333 on 1333mhz supported motherboard

I have intel dh67cl motherboard, my motherboard supports ram not higher then 1333mhz , recently my ram stick got faulty and dead now , i wnat to buy new ram but 1333mhz ram is more expensive almost 40% more then that of 1666mhz or 1800mhz should i purchase ram higher then 1333mhz ? will it work ? i can get 8gb of of 1666 or 1800 and if i go for 1333mhz i can buy only 4gb in same price plz suggest

If you are replacing all RAM then there should be no problem with higher frequency, at worst it would run at lower speed. You may be better off getting 2x4GB to run them in dual channel and get better performance.

As said above, just buy 2 new sticks of 4GB or more and in the woest situation it will run slower... that's what happen when I built my current pc, the motherboard support up to 1666Mhz and I have installed 1866Mhz stick and it's working fine since 2016
