This is the first time I'm writing here, and I'm sorry for the poorly formed title. Here's my problem. Whenever I play games, movements leave behind afterimages. This might sound vague so I'll ty to explain. You know when you move your mouse quickly, and it looks like the cursor spreads into multiple images? Well, it's like that. but with even slower movements. I know that this is something that always is there, but it's just really intense, so much so that I cannot play anything in first person, because it causes me headaches. I should also mention that my FPS is at an all time high.
I pretty much bought a new computer, so I really can't pinpoint the problem. The only thing that's still unchanged is my monitor, so refresh rate is out of the question. My previous rig was an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT, and an Intel processor with two cores (can't say which one for sure). Now I have an AMD Radeon R9 200 Series and an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20 GHz 3.20 GHz..
I hope someone can help me solve this problem, or at least help me find out what the name of this phenomena is, so that I might search the web more effectively.

I'm thinking the phenomena you are referring to is "Ghosting". And as far as I've seen, this is a monitor issue. Various monitors offer an anti-ghosting setting. What kind of monitor do you have?

On my Asus ve278, this setting is known as a "Trace Free" and my current setting is slightly lower than mid-range, '40'.

I'm not sure what model it is exactly, nut it's an old Samsung monitor. When looking for more info in the Control Panel, its described as a Generic PnP Monitor. ¸The thing itself only has an auto adjust button and brightness buttons. If the tracing option is there, its probably somewhere in the Control Panel.
Thanks for providing me with the name of this frustrating appearance, it'll make my search easier.
