Running Win 10 Pro 64 bit Win Office Pro 2016.
ISSUES: MS programs keep taking over my default programs of choice.
EXAMPLE: Have Google Chrome set as default browser but this keeps being disabled in favour of Edge/Internet Explorer
Foxit Reader for PDF set as default but keeps reverting to Adobe Reader
Email Client keeps reverting to one of the MS mail clients.
This is frustrating and annoying and a permanent solution is sought. Any ideas appreciated.

Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth and press enter
SFC fixes system files, second command cleans image files, re run SFC if it failed to fix all files and...

the solutions from MS are to try to run a reset as it might be a fault in the install.

this guy tried a few other things you might try: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/default-programs-always-reset-on-restart/d061c979-67e0-4426-b66d-ccf02ed0c6bd
