[Hint request] Paint!!!

So I've got MacScare up and running on my machine and have been trying
out a few Adrift games, and I'm stuck on David Whyld's "Paint!!!".

I'm able to get rid of the hole from the meteor by bringing in Mr.
Abogee (Rob bit the dust in order to enable this, but I can't say I
really miss him). Then a bomb shows up -- I'm not sure where it comes
from, because I hadn't noticed it in the room description before --
and I sell it to Stavros for a heap of cash. Then... I'm not sure
what else to do, so I wait around for Mr. O. to come back, at which
point I get the sixth-best ending, which is not so good.

I'm not sure what else I should be doing in order to improve my
success. I've tried painting the walls a bunch of times, and I've
retrieved the stapler from Ted; the only thing I can think of is that
the desk needs maintenance or something should be done with the filing
cabinet or the plant, but none of these things seems to have obvious
actions associated with them.

If you have the stapler, you can fire it at Abogee to force him into helping
you *and* bringing back to life your murdered workmate. Also try giving him
the coffee for an extra score boost.

There are two main routes through the game: the desk getting wrecked and you
managing to move the desk *before* it gets wrecked (Stan should give you a
hand with this) which opens up several different possibilities.
Unfortunately there's no way to actually repair the desk short of getting
Abogee's help - my fault really as I didn't consider the idea of repairing
it without him.

The bomb you get from Stan after a certain point in the game (40 moves I
think). It can be sold to a shady salesman who shows up sooner or later
(watch for his van appearing in the car park and he'll be there a moment or
two later).
