Hi.

I accidently removed a file from my compter, because it didn't appear to be important. Unfortunately i can no longer boot my computer successfuly, the computer instead shows an error 'NTdetect failed' and the computer then automatically restarts and repeats the process in a loop.

So, I have no windows installation CD. Although I do have hirens boot dvd, it does not boot with my computer as nothing shows up when inserted. I've even changed the order of boot selection upon computer startup to 'cd/dvd' but the cd still does not boot. Instead, all i see is a small line that blinks in the very top left hand corner of the screen.

So, I'm not quite sure what would be within the hirensboot dvd that could possibly cure my problem but i still have hope. Take a look here yourself, to see if you can tell me if anything does or does not exist that's capable of curing my problem; http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd

Thank you, for reading ;)

@anonymous1; the 'one' important file was in the middle of a bunch of college assignments that all had the same icon image. I had already put all those assignment files on to a memory key so I decided to remove them all, unaware that this one important file was in the middle, it did not catch my eye. If I had seen the name of it, I definitely would of thought twice before going to the point of removing it as I wouldn't be sure of what it was in the first place, or what purpose it had so it's common sense not to touch files like that as you'd need to be cautious before making any actions you may soon regret.

I wish I could boot the hirens DVD, but it does not seem to be booting. I even tried two DVDs of two different Hiren versions, still nothing. It tries to load, fails but says nothing, then skips to load the HDD but then expectedly, fails.

I'm not sure what to do. On Tuesday, I will be bringing it in to a repair shop. But first, I wanted to try something myself before having to pay anything in order to get it fixed by others. Can you help me, or anyone else?

I would be deeply appreciated ;)

No, I'm using a DVD. Hirens Boot is burnt on to a DVD.

I was wondering, could I put all those files on to a USB stick, could I boot it that way? Contact me on Skype if you like, and we can continue this further.
