i have bought all of the components for my PC so far, i just am stuck on the GPU

im wondering if anyone has any opinion of these cards or brands.

i know that HIS is using their updated PCB though im not too sure about XFX

im aware that the GHz eds are voltage locked but im not planning on OCing anytime soon

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Get the HIS card. I had the XFX and the cooler sucks. It sounds so bad even at 30% fan speed. The coil whine is crazy on it and if you ever put it on 50% fan speed it's like jet engine with coil whine. So If I were you I'd grab the HIS or just grab the Sapphire Dual-X HD 7970 which can OC to reach GHz Ed levels and more and still be quiet at even 65-70%. I have mine sitting on 55% fan speed and the only thing I can hear is my side fan and H80i pump since I just replaced the H80i stock fans with Scythe GT 1850 RPM. So, it's either HIS 7970 IceQ X2 GHz Ed or grab the Sapphire card even their GHz Ed will outdo the XFX by miles.

I like what hero said, the HIS card is pretty good. I have a Sapphire Dual-X 7970 right now and its running @ 1100/1550 all day. It was only 409 from amazon also, if you can find the HIS its around 459.

i looked everywhere and couldn't actually find a single site that sold the HIS GPU

as of now i decided to go with the Powercolor 7990 because of the power draw and cost (was planning 3-way CF) also saved space so i can now fit a decent sound card

thx for the answers :)
