HIS ATI HD 7950 ICEq problems.

I just bought this card yesterday and installed it, however, when installing the drivers my dxdiag and catalyst driver installer think that it is an ATI 3000 series.

I have unplugged and plugged the graphics card back in and deleted and re-installed the drivers but this is the third or so time that it has installed the 3000 series drivers.

The card requires 2 6-pin PCIE power connectors but I am only using 1, could this be the issue?

Totally, you shouldn't use the card without the proper power supply, hence one with 2x6-pin connector.
