Hello,
I just build my new computer and on my asrock z68 extreme 7 gen 3 mobo i hit the clr cmos button and now i cant get it to boot. i have no idea how to fix this and not sure where to look please help asap...

Remove your motherboard battery (looks like a watch battery) and leave it for a few minutes. Place it back in. If that doesn't work, look for your CMOS jumper, place it in pin 2-3 for at least 10 seconds, and place it back in pin 1-2. That should get it working.

Yeah i just tried all of this and still cant get it to get past the same screen.....really have no idea what to do...i literally had it all up and running and then just accidently hit the clr cmos button and then like i said cant get it past that one screen...

Can you access the BIOS? If so:

Have you tried factory restore from the BIOS?

If possible, try getting the original BIOS. You can do this by getting it from the MoBo website for your model. Make a bootable copy of the original BIOS through a CD or USB. Just start up with the CD/USB. However, you will need to access the BIOS if you want to boot from the CD/USB, if it is required of you (some PCs have their primary boot to as the optical drive, THEN the HDD).

Did you find your answer? If not, you should try to go into your Bios and setting your SATA to AHCI.

Im hoping that will work for me too, as I did the same last night and had to leave it in distress last night and today. Will tackle it tonight... 🙁

have you tried pressing tab? i know that may sound rediculous, but my current comp sometimes gets stuck on the boot screen, and when i press tab (to change screen display) it started to boot.... may be a completely different problem that caused this, but it worked for me... (admittedly i do not know of a clr_CMOS on my current computer, but it also got stuck on boot screen.)
