Hitachi External Hard drive

i have Hitachi 250GB hard drive .my lapotop is not detecting the hard drive.It used to work fine.please let me know how to ..

Does the drive appear in Disk Management? Right click Computer --> Manage

Is this an external drive? Is it getting power? Does the drive spin up? What's the model number? Have you tried it on another computer? Do you care about the data on it?

am sorry for late reply.It is an external drive,the drive doent spin up.I have tried on another computer too

Manju, check the power adapter. It is possible that the adapter or the adapter connection is bad.

Try with another USB enclosure or extract it and connect it directly to a desktop PC.
