Hitachi hard drive - enclosure needed

I have removed a hard drive from a Sony Vaio laptop. Though everything I can find describes the Hitachi hard drive as SATA, it does not connect with several hard drive enclosures I have tried -- the number of pins seem correct, but there is extra plastic on either side and in the middle. What type of hard drive enclosure will work with this drive?

Well the hard drive is normal. The one thing that i did just realize is sometimes they put adapters on them so that they can fit it differently. Make sure there isn't anything else in there. It should look like this normally.

Plastic don't do anything, why would it cause trouble? are the plastics preventing you from inserting the cable fully? Really need a close up pix, we just guessing here.

Yes remove that part. It connects to the actual SATA connector on the hard drive. You CAN remove it. just wiggle it back and forth
