I see that the BBC is releasing an illustrated version of the
hitchhiker's guide adventure. (see
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/3615046.stm).
Anybody know anything about this (are they converting the z file to
blorb or z6 or something)?

I e-mailed them, but they replied that they could not reveal what they were
doing. I *assume* it's going to be a Flash reimplementation, since I doubt
anyone's writing a ZIL compiler for the original source or
reverse-engineering/rewriting it with graphics compatibility in Inform.

A new HHGG game in Flash, maybe. A Flash game inspired by the original
locations and puzzles, maybe. A Flash reimplementation -- in the sense
of recreating the original parser, puzzles, and interaction -- no.

A Z-code interpreter written in Flash, maybe?

Can't believe they'd get through it without asking some questions,
either here or on the Z-machine mailing list.
