My rig is in the signature...I've been playing hitman absolution for sometime now...i am in the 16th chapter where i am in the sledghammer mission, about to kill skurky..But when i step out to the plcae where iam supposed to evade the agency..I have huge fps drops..like i've never seen the fps go below 30 throughout the game..In the benchmark my minimum was 34 and on average i had 40..But generally when i play the game i have better average fps..And the spot where iam in definitely is not as demanding as the benchmark..Its just some buildings..But when i look in the direction of the buildings my fps fps drops below 30,goes as low as 25...i have on screen monitoring with afterburner and hwinfo64..when i checked there the gpu is flucutuating like anything..Otherwise with this game the gpu usgae has always been at 100..hardly dropped below 95%..But at this place it hardly touches 100%..And tmperature is not a matter of concern here..as highest recorded while playing the game was 74..Normally my gpu maxes out at 76 or 77..cpu temp had peaked at 60.that too would normally peak at 63..i don't think it is a bottleneck either as alll the cpu cores(two virtual cores) had a max of 85% usage and avreaged around 70s...My settings for the game are:1080p,vsync off, msaa off, ultra execpt for ssao at normal, fxaa on..

I have uploaded an ingame pic here along with the gpu usage and fps, check that out and tell me if its a problem with the game's optimization or something else...

http://postimg.org/image/5cfawe4pt/ ..I know the settings i have set are a bit high for my rig but above 30 fps is fine for me...

And when i set the settings to medium that gave me about 10 fps more..but still same kind of gpu usage.. Is this something which can fixed?

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-r9-280x-r9-270x-r7-260x,3635-9.html shows you should get about 40 fps average for bf4 with a 260x

But I've seen quite a few games fps dip and rise a lot over different scenarios in different games. More so with less powerful cards.

Can you tell us psu voltages from hwinfo - 12v, 5v and 3.3v - min and max?

Have posted on the Hitman Absolution forum and got any feedback?

Yes on average the fps is really good.normally stays above 40..Adn as far as rails are concerned. My 12v volt has been on the lower side since the time i boough the pc..Thats' just because of the low quality of my psu..But still within atx standars..12v is dropping to 11.592 max is at 11.952..but generally stays at 11.880 at idle conditions..3v drops to 3.344 max at 3.364...Not sure about 5v..doesn't seem to be listed there...And i haven't reported in absolution forum yet as its an old game now...

So is this normal with games..Dropping fps so bad..poor optimization(reffering to ac3,never really really reached 100% gpu usage for me..would always waver around 60 to 100%)..But hitman has benn by far the best optimized game i have played on pc...gpu always stayed at 100% never really dipped below..is it just an optimization issue with hitman even?

Yes i will be changing the psu soon...But i should not have any problems until then i guess...Yes i can get the fps to around 40 if i set medium settings(only at this place in the game(otherwise it stays above 40 all the time.maybe has dropped to 35 at worst)...But my basic question is not about fps i would like to play..Rather i wanted to know if its the game's optimization which is causing this...From what you've told me i guess its a yes there..Have i got it right?

The framerate in games naturally fluctuates depending on how much is on screen and how much background work the game is running. A dip from 30+ down to 25 fps in some areas is pretty normal in most games, even if the GPU doesn't appear quite maxed it still can be. My CPU sometimes 'maxes' at 96% and sometimes 100%, I'm not sure why there's a difference like that when my CPU is the bottleneck in both cases, but it happens, and it's probably a limitation of the monitoring software or how quickly the monitoring software updates.

It's not really a matter of good optimization or bad optimization; some areas in games will always run better than other areas based on the inherent complexity of a location. For example, a hallway is a lot easier to run than a forest or a cityscape.

No there is something definetley wrong with the game at that spot...because the gpu has never fluctuated like that with any game(bar ac3).or some other games with vsync...Even with hma it has always stayed above 40...And i difnetly unvdertand 5 fps drop is normal with intesinsive parts wityhin a game..But here the case is quite different..I do nothing there,,nothing happening around either..when i turn towards the building pfs drops from 50 to 25..that is'nt normal...i have played games with barely 25 fps before with my old laptop...but this game under 30 feels really bad...Thats the reason i tried many different settings before to have fps above 30..

It can be normal. For example, Skyrim for most people can fluctuate from 20-60 fps just depending on which direction you're looking.

The vista you posted does appear to be a relatively complex scene, so I'm not ruling out the possibility it's normal, especially since monitoring software usually only updates a couple times per second so it can't be totally accurate.

That said, I suppose it could be your power supply. If it's just barely failing to keep up with power requirements it could degrade performance. But then I'd think it would be happening more when your GPU hits 100%, not less.

Anyway, what do you have anisotropic filtering set at?

tried antistropic at 2x and 16x,same result...it is in noway a problem with the psu(because at 100% load its absolutely fine,on the whole my pc would only use 230 watts fromt the psu)..As i've already told you the gpu usage keeps dropping when i see towards the building,if i had taken a screenshot of msi afterburner usage graph you will know what iam talking about...This definetely is not a problem with the hardware...It has something to do with the optimization...And i don't think that scene is as intense as the one we have in hma benchmark. In the benchmark my fps did not drop below 34...And even if it is a complex scene why is my gpu not utilised there...And i cannot accept its a problem with the monitoring tool, why would the monitoring tool show heavily fluctuating usage at that point alone...
