I know it's possible but don't know how to achieve it.

Currently at 3.1 ghz stock voltage. Runs fine in 24 hour stress test in Prim 95

Temps

Core 1 : 59 c
Core 2 : 58 c
Core 3 : 51 c
Core 4 : 50 c

What do you think is safe to go to seeing my current scores.

B3 or G0 stepping?

Scale 2: Quad

Q6x00: Tcase Max 71c, G0 Stepping, Tjunction Max 100c, Vcore Default 1.372, TDP 95w, Delta 10c

-Tcase/Tjunction-
--70--/--80--80--80--80-- Hot
--65--/--75--75--75--75-- Warm
--60--/--70--70--70--70-- Safe
--25--/--35--35--35--35-- Cool

You've got room to spare 😀 (Was taken from Computronix's extensive temperature guide at the top of the forum).

Well I finally took the plung and oped the core voltage in the bios to 1.355 with memory timing 1:1.

I currently have it overclocked to 3.4 ghz stable so far in prime knock on wood.

The thing that amases me is that my temps haven't changed much.

Now
Core 1 - 58 C
Core 2 - 58 C
Core 3 - 49 C
Core 4 - 48 C

OK so they have gone down a bit...is this abnormal?

I too can go to 3.2 with stock voltages. Using Abit IP35E mobo.
And the temps are around 55-60 max when running 3Dmark06 CPU test, and 37C at idle. Using zalman9700 cooler...!!!

Im wondering whether to increase the voltages or just leave it as it is!!!!

Q6700s are nice chips now that the price is proportionate to the bonus speed.
300 extra bucks or more for 266 Mhz? Thats a Fing joke! But 50 bucks more, and you can get 3.9+ on them. I have a 3.95 @ 1.53 loaded, thats not to bad for its class!

Can you guys run Core Temp and Please List the VID of you chips for me? Mine is a 1.2375! very good VID, as the lowest is 1.2000. Thats the reference design chip VID. (Which I have a q6600 version at that VID!) So I am very curious as to what yer VIDs are!!

I hope no one has a 1.3000 or higher! I had a 1.3250, the worse VID one as well, and it couldnt do 3.8 at 1.5000.

Well, maybe I could squeak it out now, but I wasnt able to a month ago. While my 1.2375 gets the 3.95.

So I hope one of you has a 1.2000 VID chip!!! You are getting some good results already!
