Drivers for all optical drives are built in to Windows Vista (Microsoft drivers) so third-party ones are not required (for that reason the manufacturers don't provide any).

If a firmware update exists it will be on the manufacturer's website. Yours was manufactured jointly by Hitachi and LG.
