This is clever, and it's nice that it works with any app.

But, I think Steam should really add some APIs that make it easier for VR apps to support mixed reality recordings. Part of this would be support for tracked 3D (RGB + D) cameras. Those would provide two benefits: no green screen or special lighting and you could be (somewhat) properly lit, within the virtual environment.
