So about 8 months ago my 3870 had major artifacts.. So i bought a 4830... Now i have a 3870 laying around and am going to throw it into my A8R32-MVP Deluxe motherboard once i get a crossfire bridge..

do i need 1 bridge or 2 for crossfire? and can my 630 watt power supply take both at the same time?

2.7ghz Opteron 165
4GB Patriot
2x 500GB SATA HDDs
320GB SATA HDD
CD/DVD SATA
7 fans..

And will i see a downgrade in performance if any at all in COD4? since i am sort of running at the speed of 2 3870s instead of 1 4830?

even though this chart says it doesn't work, i have seen a couple screenshots of it working with the 3870/4850..

Honestly though.. i put it in the over after removing the heatsink for 12 minutes at 380 degress, and it runs fine now..

Poopy. Overrated at best, will blow chunks and kill other parts at worst. The little red voltage switch is a giveaway to an older, inefficient design. An Antec Earthwatts 650 would be a decent choice.

If the chart says it won't work, the fact that some people have made it work does not speak to how well it works, and with what limitations and exceptions. Last year's drivers maybe, or resolution-limited? At best, I would expect both cards would be clocked down to the slower one. I wouldn't count on it working the way you want it to. Now is the time we hope TGGA is reading this thread...
