Recently built a computer, installed windows on a 120 gb ssd then booted windows after adding my 1 tb seagate barracuda. once i added the HDD i was able to set it up, was recognized, and partitioned, assigned a drive letter E;. drive was working fine. had a few small programs on the HDD. I noticed one of the programs wouldnt open so i went in search and sure enough my E: drive which was the 1tb HDD was no longer there.

After i installed everything, and everything worked fine for about 8 hours, windows said i was using the same product code as some1 else and it basically hijacked the screen only directing you to the Microsoft website. however it was late and i just turned off my computer
the next morning is when i noticed the missing drive letter

Also to note i put the 1tb in my brothers build and it also does not recognize it.
Should i try and install windows, drivers, and programs all over again or is it pointless because the drive isn't recognized.

Need help and thanks in advance,

The windows thing only happened the one time and hasn't returned. Yes we used different power and SATA cables, from 2 different machines, and also 2 sets of cables on my machine. also the drive doesn't show up in UEFI BIOS. the HDD is still under warranty since everything is brand new, should i just limp by on my ssd untill i get a new HDD? also any insight on why it would just stop working? just faulty? any insight helps thanks guys

Everything there is OK except for the psu which turns up in Tier five - Replace immediately. of http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

Run Checkdisk on the HDD

Download and run Seatools to also check it.

Double check it shows up as working in Device Manager.

If its empty, then reformat it in Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management
