I am building a 1500-2000 ($US) computer+monitor setup. I appreciate all advice and assistance. Current build looks to be:
MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G
Skylake I7 6700K
ASUS Z-170A
Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 C16 x8GB DDR4
Cooler master Hyper 212 EVO fan
Samsung 850 500GB M2 SataIII SSD
Pixio 277 monitor
Power supply, monitor, headset and mouse are up in the air. Likewise with case.
None of the above is set in stone. It's the best I've come up with so far.

Here's a build with a GTX 1080. Headset, mouse, and keyboard are up to you, they are more personal choices.

Included i7-6700K instead of i7-6700

Went for GTX1080 instead of GTX1070. Opted ASUS GTX1080 STRIX because it has best cooling and provides stable 2.0GHz+ clock speed with ease.

Monitor I selected is DELL 1440p with G-Sync. Don't know the reason why GraySilencer selected the Free-sync model.(I think it was by mistake)

PSU I selected Corsair RM750x is of very good quality and comes with 10Yr manufacturer warranty which makes it usable in 2-3 builds with ease.

Storage 480GB will be enough and you can add a HDD or another SSD as per your requirement.

Go for the OS from Kinguin they are legit and working. They get activated online and get registered on Microsoft Server. You will get all the updates from time to time.

went with a better cooler. the 212 Evo is nice, if you seriously want to OC the 6700k a better cooler would be better suited, such as the Cryorig H5

the Gigabyte board seems to be on sale right now or something, anyway for that price it's the best board on the market
comes with a better Audio chip than the ASUS, the UD-series uses only durable quality components.

went with higher clocked RAM. for gaming there's little difference right now but we'll see if that changes in the future. Fallout 4 seems to profit off higher clocked RAM for example, as do editing and encoding tasks. if you feel you won't do that anyway, go with the RAM King Dranzer suggested, it will be more than sufficient

went with an EVGA card, it's around the same price but comes with better customer support

I also threw in a nice case that is - again for some reason - fairly cheap right now.
it comes with sound dampening material, dust filters all over, good airflow and is big enough to take all your components with ease

a 650W PSU is more than enough for the build, the EVGA Supernova G2 is one of the best PSUs currently available and seeing as it's the same price as the 550W it's a no brainer

as for monitors: I'm really in no position to give a recommendation there
