Using home folder from the account profile to map a drive to a server file
share. Works OK when using a wired connection. Once the user works
wirelessly, the mapped drive never shows up.

I assume this is because at the time on log-on the wireless connection is
not active (as WPA-PSK takes half a minute or so to authenticate)

Question: Is there anyway to 'delay' the home folder connection until the
network comes up?

Of course if I remap the drive once the connection comes up it works OK. I
don't want to use Offline files either. Surely MS would have thought of
this in relation to wireless?

WPA-PSK should not take more than 5~10 seconds to auth... It probably
takes longer to get your IP address from your wireless DHCP server...

AFAIK, the only way to delay the home drive mapping is to delay it via
a login script....

Thanks Jeff. Yes its the DHCP that's takes the time.

I don't understand why tho it does not cache the Home Drive? similar to
'normal' mapped drives. There always there, just not active till you click
them. I want this same behaviour with the Home Folders.....
