Home office printer pricing

Basically I am wondering how much is for something cheep but good. Something in the mid class range and something all out. In the compact design about a foot or two.

Primary printing for me is mearly documents maybe come color involved. Probably won't be doing pictures. Also is it ideal to have one for images and a nother for documents.

O and also price of ink replacement and time of non usage between prints say not used for a month

I would get a color laser if you don't regularly print. My experiences with ink-jet have been poor if the printer sits unused for long periods.

Infrequent printing no problem
The toner carts are generally more expensive when you do need to replace, but they last much longer than an inkjet.
