Hey folks,

Im looking to set up a home server and in need of some help.

Right now a have a Windows 7 box with XBMC that houses my library of media files. The Windows 7 box has a Core i3(first gen I believe), 4 Gb Ram, and 850Gb internal storage.

Basically I would like to be able to stream(internally for the moment and later externally) to other devices inside my house. I also have a small ROM collection that I would like to be able to access internally/externally with several laptops(and yes I do own the original cartridges for the ROMs before that question is raised).

Ive read articles on XBMC and using Plex but XBMC only allows me to control the local pc remotely(not able to access streaming video) and Plex will not recognize my PC as a server.(Could have possibly been a setup problem as my 3 year old son jumped on me whilst I was setting it up)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
