Hello.
I have this LG Blu-Ray player BH4120S which no longer turns on, instead of fixing the console I want to adapt the 5.1 wire speakers ( Frontal 42Wx2, Center 42W, Surround 42Wx2, Subwoofer 120W (Pasive)) to my PC (Realtek® ALC 887-VD2 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC) which claims: "Use a chassis with HD audio module in the front panel to support an 8-channel audio output.", altough it only has just 3 3.5mm jacks, the motherboard has a Digital audio connector (4-1 pin SPDIF_OUT) so I could get one module if necessary, and one HDMI port in the GPU. Is it possible to accomplish such a setup? if so, how?

Your question is hard to read. I think what you meant is you have a HT in a box BH4120S , your receiver/blu-ray player is dead, and you want to reuse the speakers?

Should be pretty easy, just get a new cheap receiver with SPDIF IN. YOu will use the SPDIF out on the PC to input in into your new receiver to power the old speakers.

Enjoy!
