I don't know if this is the right placed to talk about this but its is highly tech related

the form of this is for house security
I want to know if there is any product which is able to pick up phones etc within your house,
I'm not sure exactly how it would work so it's hard to explain.

The idea is if there is an intruder in the house this system thing is able to pick up their phone saving their details, such as number, when they entered the house when they left.

There's a chance I'm really over complicating this and it's really simple but if anyone knows of anything, it would be appreciated.

While there are many 'cell phone detectors' used by law enforcement or other security organizations, one that would also scoop up info off the phone would be pretty expensive.

Multiple problems:
1. You're counting on a monumentally dumb thief.
- He has a phone with him
- It is ON
- It is actually his phone and not stolen from someone else.

2. Range Detection: Anything with a reasonable range would also gather data from your neighbors, friends, anyone walking by.
Radio waves down't automatically start and stop at the wall or door of your house.

3. I'm not sure that level of data collection would actually be 'legal'. Consult a lawyer on this
