So I've been meaning to build my first computer for a bit now, but I'm still very iffy that I'll be able to do it.

This computer is also for gaming. I want to be able to play games on medium-high settings with this rig. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've heard that the per core performance on the FX series is not as good as the Phenoms. I may be wrong (as I am a noob in the computer department). Also, if I were to choose this CPU, would it be good for gaming and also be compatible with the parts I have chosen? Right now, my gut says to stick with the Phenom. :pt1cable:

And also, will my CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus work with this CPU? Because it says that it works with CPU Socket AM3. My CPU is AM3 but my MoBo is AM3+. I'm a little confused about that..
