I am having a problem with running Homeworld Cataclysm on my Laptop. I have tryed running it in several compatability modes with no success. The sierra and Barking Dog videos run in the beginning but the game will not continue, I have gotten to the menu a few times and twice the training started but then the game just shuts down. Can anyone out there assist?

Have on laptop:
Nvidia 9600 GT GPU w 512MB VRAM
Centrino2 processor
SSD primary drive
Win7pro 64bit
16G of RAM

Have you installed the DirectX and drivers that comes wiht the game?
Most old games dont run on newer windows OS cus they are lacking instructions rather than beeing incompatible (also try googleing that problem, a lot of gamers post solutions to those kind of problems).
If it behaves at all like original Homeworld, I used some flag options in the shortcut to get it working on my desktop ( change the shortcut so it calls the executable with "/f" switches and what not to turn on features, skip intor videos, etc. ) Granted I was running it on a Radeon 6870, so I don't know if nVidia has a problem.

I tried using the 1.01 patch for US but I dont think it installed correctly or im getting it wrong. I also cant seem to find a reliable place to find the patch without having some "clean your pc" app attached to it...Do you know a good place I can get the patch and It seems like you have already done this so would you be able to help with some advise on the patching. Thank you for your help-everyone.
