I remember it got very good reviews 5 years ago, when I was playing
Starcraft and Air Warrior and X-Wing, but I never got around to getting
it, until this week.

Is anyone playing it online? Not that I'm ready for that, I can't even
figure out how to play it! It didn't come with any manual, just a CD in
a box. I did a little of the training, but I would like to know what
the object of the game is, and what is does the overall gameplay consist
of. I started the "training", and it is not difficult, although I've
only done the first couple of lessons.

Does an online manual, or something like that, exist?

Thanks for some info,

Isn't there a PDF manual on the CD?

As to the object of the game ... did you let the pre-game video play
all the way through?

Nope. I even did a search with windows "search" thing. There are no
..pdf files on the disk.

Yes. I know that the object is to get home, but I don't know how the
game is played. I continue to do the training; I've done 5 lessons. I
suppose I will pick it up little by little by trial & error, if I don't
lose interest. I have no idea how to get home, or how you find out how
to get home.

The game is mission based like any other RTS out there - just listen to
the things you are told at the beginning of each mission, and you will
know what to do. Once a mission is finished, you will jump to the next
one, until you finally reach Higara.

If you have gameplay questions, visit the forums at
forums.relicnews.com, they have a friendly and competent crowd that will
surely answer your questions.

I finished the training and I have just started the missions. It's
going pretty well. I do have one question: Is there an alternate way of
selecting a ship? It's essential to be able to select a ship, or ships,
but the only way I know to do that is to identify it by eye, and then
click on it. Sometimes that is very difficult and too slow. Is there a
way to pop-up a list and click on a name, or to cycle through the
available ships?

Thanks for all the good info so far, and for this one.
