A coax output from a cable box can't be connected directly to a computer monitor. Most cable boxes have other types of output, HDMI, or RCA. You will need to use one of those types of connections.

Ok how do I hook up the monitor if it does not have HDMI? What is RCA?
Can you provide the make and model of the cable box and the monitor? I can't see what you see so I have to look up manuals and pictures to understand what connections each device has.
