Hi,

I am preparing for a new build and prefer a case that will allow the mobo to be mounted horizontally. The case should not be massive like the Thermaltake X9.

Cases of interest:

1. Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 - from what I understand, the case can be mounted on its side, allowing for mobo to lay horizontally. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The following should fit in the case:

1. ATX mobo
2. Watercooled GTX 980
3. H100i
4. More than 5 fans
5. Regular sized PSU

Solution
I believe you are right about the Air 540. I have the smaller Air 240 (white) with the board (white mATX) laying horz. and glass over on top.

Here someone has the black version laying that way.

I have an Air 540. You can absolutely lay it down on its side.

However...this will restrict air intake for the PSU. So you'd have to put it on some little feet to give it a little clearance.
And the 4 x drive bays for 2.5" drives (SSD's) are on that side, behind the panel that would be "down".
